Systemic Medication: Fludrocortisone for orthostatic hypotension-induced hyperhidrosis

Three patients were reported with cervical spine injury and orthostatic hypotension that was thought to initiate or worsen autonomic dysreflexia and hyperhidrosis. Their excessive sweating responded to treatment of the orthostatic blood pressure drop with the use of the mineralocorticoid fludrocortisone. [73] A search of the medical literature using PubMed, however, found no further recent published reports of fludrocortisone in the treatment of hyperhidrosis.
