Volunteers Sought for Free Hyperhidrosis Treatment in St. Louis

It's not too late to participate as a patient volunteer at the IHHS's upcoming educational seminar in St. Louis, MO! On Saturday, September 24, 2011, the IHHS will be conducting a medical seminar--Hyperhidrosis: Best Practices and Emerging Technologies in Contemporary Care--at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis with a focus on treating patients who have excessive sweating. The IHHS's finest medical professionals, who also happen to be experts in this field, will be leading the program. And to top it off: Patient volunteers who participate will receive FREE treatment for their excessive sweating.

If the resources were available, the IHHS would provide these teach-and-learn opportunities with greater frequency. Nonetheless, each time we hold a seminar, it ends with more healthcare providers being able to offer state-of-the-art hyperhidrosis care to their patients and more sufferers being free of its dreadful limitations.

IHHS president and founding board member, Dee Anna Glaser, MD will chair this seminar. She will be joined by IHHS founding board member David M. Pariser, MD, and Samantha Hill, MD, a pediatric dermatologist who heads a pediatric hyperhidrosis clinic in Milwaukee. These highly regarded doctors are authorities in hyperhidrosis treatment and bring an abundance of experience into these teaching seminars. (One doctor even experienced excessive sweating in her adolescence).

Patient treatments will range from iontophoresis to Botox injections and will be conducted Saturday afternoon at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. People with all types of primary focal hyperhidrosis are asked to volunteer. Treatment at this time of year can be ideal; the upcoming back-to-school and holiday seasons are enough to make anyone sweat, let alone someone who suffers with excessive sweating.

And never forget that people looking for treatment can always utilize the IHHS's international database of hyperhidrosis specialists, Physician Finder, to locate a healthcare professional around the globe who offers treatment for hyperhidrosis. A gold star next to a physician's name indicates that this healthcare provider has participated in a live-patient teaching seminar--like this one--and is specially trained to help patients manage excessive sweating.

For people who are considering volunteering for this event: You must first and foremost schedule and undergo an evaluation (either in person or by telephone) by one of these doctors before you can participate:

This seminar will undoubtedly be a terrific opportunity for a person with excessive sweating. But on a higher level, volunteering will help launch a thousand other successful treatments for current and future sufferers. ...Working together toward a shared goal, that's a winning combination for everyone.
