Welcome to SweatHelp.org and the International Hyperhidrosis Society. We help people who suffer from excessive sweating. So, whether you have sweaty palms, sweaty feet, excessive sweating in your armpits, or sweat dripping down your face, or even if you sweat profusely all over your body as a result of ETS surgery, you'll find a sympathetic and understanding ear here.
You'll also find reliable information about real treatment options for excessive sweating, tools to find a physician who treats hyperhidrosis, the most complete coverage of what's happening in the world of hyperhidrosis research, and more.
The International Hyperhidrosis Society is the only non-profit, independent, global organization dedicated to the entire excessive sweating community. The International Hyperhidrosis Society increases awareness and understanding of excessive sweating, improves access to hyperhidrosis treatments, provides feedback to the scientific community about excessive sweating, and offers education for medical professionals in order to improve the diagnosis and care of excessive sweating.

Meet the Graduates from Our Recent Hyperhidrosis Physician Education Sessions |
As the second of this year's continuing medical education (CME) seminars--Hyperhidrosis: A Practical Approach for Optimized Results--came to a close in May, we began reflecting on the impact of these unique one-day seminars. All indications are that these CMEs alter and enhance how both the participating medical personnel and the hyperhidrosis patients perceive the disease. We're hoping these attendees start a ripple effect into the world at large, as they share their increased knowledge and treatment experiences. |

Botox Relabeled to Include Warning But Risk for HH Sufferers Remains Slight |
It seems Botox has become a household name in the last few years. Often associated with its cosmetic application, in the hyperhidrosis community it's most likely to be known for one of its medical applications: reducing excessive sweating. The FDA’s recent requirement of a warning label for botulinum toxin products resulted in a quick response from American Academy of Dermatology President, David M. Pariser, MD. The bottom line: Botox is completely safe for use in hyperhidrosis therapy. |

Proven: The Physical Impact of Hyperhidrosis |
On the most basic level, excessive sweating is about living with skin that is constantly saturated. It makes sense that people with hyperhidrosis would be more vulnerable to infections of the skin. A new study bears this out, revealing that 30% of patients with hyperhidrosis developed skin infections, versus 12% for patients who don't have it. The study also reveals some telling details about the way hyperhidrosis affects people's body's and minds. |

Exploring the Genetics of Excessive Sweating |
Genetic research is one of the most compelling avenues of study in our quest to understand and manage hyperhidrosis. Since 2004, Betsy Vibert, a genetic counselor, and her research team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York have been collecting data from thousands of participants in a ground-breaking genetic study of excessive sweating. Many members of the IHHS community have volunteered to take part of this large study--you (and your DNA) can be a part of it too. |

Mark Your Calendar: EADV Features Hyperhidrosis at 2 Events |
The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) has two major events on its educational calendar this year--and BOTH include hyperhidrosis education for physicians! In June, David M. Pariser, MD, IHHS Secretary and founding board member and American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) President, delivers a lecture at a joint EADV/AAD review course in Munich, Germany. In October, the IHHS will again be presenting at the EADV's Congress--this year in Berlin. We are calling all physicians to join us in Germany and return home more worldly and more skilled at treating your hyperhidrosis patients. |

TEEN SWEAT Workbook: Let's Get Our Kids Out of the Shadows and Into the Sun |
Perhaps no one in the hypherhidrosis community suffers the burden and isolation of excessive sweating more than children and teens. With so few places to turn for information and treatment, kids in the teen years desperately need access to a reassuring voice that can ease some of the anxiety and answer a lot of the questions about excessive sweating. Our TEEN SWEAT 101 workbooks help fulfill this need, but we need your help to keep these workbooks in our outgoing mail. The demand has become so great, we've exhausted our current supply. |
